Perfecting Your Craft

The art of creating in the form of storytelling is about the way you use your ideas to bring out a certain vision in mind and portray it to public eye, or at least that’s what I say. Creativity is found by finding out your craft and applying your skills to come up with something never seen before. The creatives apart of this collaboration find passion in perfecting what is their lively craft. This shoot was a spark of interest in my mind and I had the pleasure of collaborating with these few artists to produce the fire content.

Life in the day of creativity changes periodically. You have those days where you can’t think of an idea so you rest and those days where your mind is moving so fast with ideas that you don’t know what to do with it. This day went a little different for me and these creative Ray, Giogette, and Brandon. This day was a setup to perfect our craft as creatives. The scene was a night shoot at an abandoned building based in Greensboro, North Carolina. The vibe of the scene brought the sleek vision to life.

This collaboration was produced by Striker Studios, a production company specializing in Development Production, and Post-Production. Striker Studios was created by a group of photographers from Charlotte, North Carolina. They go by the names of Bradley Cooper, Bartune Taylor, and Tyee Kennedy. These young creatives met during high school and started their careers together. Each of them has a keen eye for the art of photography and together they bring stories and talent to life. They started the company this year and have taken off from the start of producing content for creatives around their community. Their company’s goal is to “create one-of-a-kind content for individuals no matter the industry.” A group like this in our community is what takes creatives to their next level. It allows space for people to showcase their culture and talent through bold and stylized storytelling, which they aim for. Being able to produce content at large is not seen so much in the industry. Their skills will be known to a great degree.

Each of these creative artists are contributors to the black entertainment, fashion, and creative industry. It’s important that young black creatives share their experiences and use their skills to produce so much more than social media likes. Our craft comes from our personal experience and to express it in different ways is the key to reaching our goals.
